Gents, im in dire need of a WORKING version of the ETK.

MUST be usable on XP and fully functional.

I need it for the billion parts i need for my sport but the boyos at Swansea BMW are fakkin useless on the ETK - they take ages!!!!!

Email or PM or post here if u got what im looking for!

Mods, im not sure if this should be in wanted or not, but i put it here. move it if you see fit, but i figured that people with an ETK may not neccessarily watch the wanted section.

Bugger! I was in caerphilly today and my car totally died!!! was doing 1800rpm and she totally died out! wouldnt start after that so i left her and went to use a phone box. Came back and she started fine, so I go on my way! Cruising down the autobahn at 90mph in middle lane, no demand on engine coming down to Pencoed turning(west-bound) she did exactly the same! Died from 3700rpm.

Tried everything! Fuel pump is fine, AFM is fine, but spark isnt always there. Tried a different Ignition coil and no change. But the RAC van that towed me home stopped to check directions with me and i started her up again without problems! :x I left her running whilt on the tow bar in neutral and she lasted all the way from carmarthen to home (14 miles) at 30-45mph. If she failed to start all the time i wouldnt mind so much, but its temperamental! :x Ive nailed it down to ECU or a broken wire and i really dont wanna go stripping the wires on my car when an ECU swap is more a sensible next step!

Does it sound like it's trying to start? Or is it just turning over with no firing?

No mate, its not trying to start, its just turning over with no firing.

Theres no relation to how long i turn it over for or what spark plugs are out (i had her running on 2, yes TWO cylinders earlier, so i know she runs and fires) but its just temperamental to when she does. Im gonna pull the ECU apart tomoro morning and see what i can find. I should be in college but fcuk it, im finishing college anyway!!!!

Finishing college as in - "jacking it in VERY close to the end" actually! I got until June/July and im never ever going to use the qualification, and its making me very very VERY miserable (doctor tried putting me on Uppers coz he thinks ive got depression because of it!!!)
So im going to do what i want to do and go to USA and do a course in bicycles. Im going to the States to basically build bikes!!! lol. I may travel a bit out there as well as im sick of seeing factories and the view outside my bedroom window. After that im gonna move to Cardiff area and see how i get on from there. :D

be silly to jack it in now, after all that work, even if you aren't going to use it, better than nowt at the end of the day, especially after four years of work

Ive got the 1st year secure and my grades are okay, so i can go and do the second year at another point in time within 3 years anyway. Im failing this year simply due to my lack of interest in the subject. The work is easy enuf but i really dont want to be there.

oh, and its 18 months work that ive done so far, not 4 years. (its a HNC not degree buddy) :)

Simon, yes it is a higher paper-grade than NVQ mate yes. NVQ's are similar to GSCE grades, while BTEC diplomas are A-level equivalent(or there-abouts) and HNC is above that. Degree is above a HNC.

Do you know what ive learnt from going to college though????..... Paperwork cant make you happy, no matter how smart people think you may be.

i totally agree, bricklaying has not changed but the industry and methods have. Although i still have to learn about methods and techniques used in the 60's! I've got A levels so it doesn't bother me. The way the industry is going the paperwork means more than a blokes ability!
