just got my hands on a 318is, pritty pleased with myself dispite hearing no end from the missus.

Was wondering if you guys had any experiense tunning these up, the guy before me has already put new shocks n springs on but its a little on the low side for me, so first will be upgrading the springs so if i bin it onto the green stuff i dont rip half the bumper off.

The engines done 200k so i was planning a full strip down and clean to get the bhp back up to wat it was wen it came out the factory, but whilst im doing this does any1 hav any advice on upgrading parts from other E30 engines. in the future there may be a new bigger engine, more than likely a 3.5, but that is way in the future.

worked on lots of the new bmw range but im new to the E30 scene, hope to get pics up n see wat u guys think n hopefully see sum of you down at a meet

Cheers

I do alot of comuting so i have an e36 325tds for during the week and the 318 is a project to be well on the way by the start of summer, i dont hav the cash to go all out on a full blown track car so i want the car for the odd track day but many taking it around england and europe on some good old de restricted windy roads.

so reliability will be an issue as iv helped friends build track cars that just cant cope with the open road.

was thinking along the lines of a supercharger, but i would want to make a custom system. Im studying motorsport engineering at uni and as good as it is, its all based on F1 engineering which in practice doesnt really go too well with such a low budget of the everyday petrol head,

chears for the welcome n the link proved some good reading.
