But how low is it really? Some measurements would help. When people talk about 60mm springs, they mean 60mm lower than stock. Having said that, it must be pretty low to scrape 15s!
If I were you I'd raise it again before you break something, but its your car ;)

mine has dropped some more since that picture was taken.
if i have my kids in the back (5 year old and 7 year old, there small) it scrapes all the time over speed bumps, even small ones.
ill upload some better pics tomorrow.
nice car brent
the rear end of mine is alot closer to the ground than yours.

That isn't that low..bluey wrote:the plan is to raise it asap before i brake something. this is the only picture i have of the car.im sure the springs must be new as its got a lot lower than this.
ill take some better pics tomorrow,
What tyres are you running?
no there old pics.tyres are fine now.
when i say scraping i dont mean the tyres are rubbing,if you get me.
i mean the underside of the car hits on speed bumps. the exhaust is standard and is fitted properly but that also hits on speed bumps.
ill check what tyres i have fitted tomorrow and report back. only just got the car so not sure whats fitted.
thanks all
p.s it looks alot higher in the pic above

THIS should help you out. No, it won't be gangsta-low anymore but at least you'll be able to take your kids to school without leaving a trail of sparks!

the cars got a full mot.passed yesterday. its only covered 66 thousand miles, full service history.the front lower valance is a bit rusty.ive found a good 2nd hand one that im fitting on the weekend. everything works, electric windows/mirrors.
quick question for you guys/girls.
any idea what the cars worth???.i think i got it cheap but would like to make sure.
thanks
Trust me mate, that isn't low.
If you buy a lowered car, either sort the damn thing or or live with it, don't complain! If you want to sort it out, just buy a 40mm all round kit and you'll be fine.
Speed bumps need to be taken slower with a lowered car - that's just logic IMO, my car is lower than that and the exhaust never scrapes on humps, although the underside scrapes occasionally on really BIG bumps. I've raised my engine so the sump isn't worn through any more (went through 3 sumps before commiting to the idea!)

hi,im running 195/50/15 tyres. every car ive owned has been lowered so know how to go over speed bumps lol.just this car bottoms out on everyone no matter how slow i go.
bigger wheels with a high profile might lift the car abit just to clear the bumps.i like the low look so dont want to lift it to much,
managed to take some rubbish pic's on my phone.

ive not had chance to have a good look at the underside of the car.
ill have a look at the exhaust asap, also the front hits on bumps aswell.might be sump hitting.i really need to have a look tbh.just havent had the time.

Yeah, definately looks like it's lost the rear hanger at the back of the exhaust.Simon13 wrote:maybe its because the exhaust is hanging off?!
As previously stated, a new set of springs will be the best solution if you feel it's too low. Or if it is just a failed shock some new wheels as those are looking a little lost in the arches tbh.
thanks for all replies, the wheels do look very small in the arches.i havent changed anything on the car since buying it,i do have some plans for it.i have 3 sets of 17 inch wheels that will fit but cant decide what to fit, also gave the paint a mop today and it looks like new again.
