On the ground control kits for the rear ive seen that there is a nylon cone that sits on the top, will i need something like that on a homebrew set up using 2,25" springs?

yes, you need to locate the spring. If you remove the lower rubber pad, you also remove the bump stop. thought about that?driftmonkey wrote:On the ground control kits for the rear ive seen that there is a nylon cone that sits on the top, will i need something like that on a homebrew set up using 2,25" springs?

We used the original pointy rubber bit to locate the spring, seems to work well enough.
For sale - E30 320i racer project - sold.

The straight spring has a larger diameter than the ballon type spring and will apply much more load on the "front" side of the bottom coil. Just keep an eye on the pad, the spring might work it's way through after a while.Brian28 wrote:We used the original pointy rubber bit to locate the spring, seems to work well enough.
