Check your inbox in a few minutes Jon

I've just got off the phone with the company I've sent details of.

They've apparently got loads of BSJ camping tickets available.

Tom/Ziggy
I'll forward the website details shortly

Great stuff Dave. £6 postage (on a bit of paper!) so if anyone's feeling tight I can order them for ya rather than each paying the p&p?

Unless anyone likes the look of
BLEU NORD CAMPING (admits 1 vehicle, 7m by 5m, allocated, numbered pitch)
?

Tis a good bit closer to the entrance.
Would possibly reduce the need for bikes as well.

On the other hand, it's less convenient for the cheeky missions through the trees to watch the night qualifying, and as we'll still want to visit the Arnage / Porsche side of the circuit I think bikes are still a necessity!

Main difference is allocated pitches. Not sure if that'd be a good thing or not, but we'd need to arrange them all together...

Unmarked pitches seemed to work in our favour last year, giving us plenty of room for cars, tents, gazebo and still have plenty of space left for other silly nonsense. winkeye

Also, as you say, better for the night excursion trackside for night qualifiying.

Theres no guarantee that the numbered pithches at Bleu Nord would be consecutive though.Would there?

Yeah, I'm tempted to stick with what we know, but just thought I'd see if anyone else had any strong feelings! Somewhere with a 'leccy hookup would have been nice!

Are you bringing the petrol this year Dave, or shall we just make sure Mark packs the gas cans?

Blue nord is quite tempting actually. But it really depends where you are within it. Looking on a map, I remember it being a bit of a hot spot on Friday night(as in bottles being lobbed into campsites etc :( )

A lot less walking for sure, and you can always walk into Beausejoure to get to the night viewing spot. Hmm. Because other campsites are never normally available, we have never had this problem before!

Bottles being lobbed in doesn't sound tempting. Lack of fire space would be a shame too! But it might make a change... where 'bouts is it?!

Possibly something distilled locally, from one or more of the Speyside distillerys and at least 12 yrs old.

I may also bring along the necessary ingredients to concoct a godfather or 2, and it would be rude not to pop in past Carrefour and stock up on some bottles of european lager while we're there :)

Thay would have been a combination of Godfathers and there was also an 18yr old Glenlivet, which IIRC you described as "rather nice"

Only quality stuff laddie, none of that 8yr old blended rubbish we sell to foreigners

So what's it gonna be?

BSJ?

Or

Bleu Nord?

I'm happy with BSJ

Me too, happy to go wherever everyone wants though...

£6 postage each will be £24, as you say Dave thats a fair bit of warm French lager!
Perhaps just one of us should book so we only pay one postage cost as Jon said...?

BSJ is ok with me. The problem with 'blue north' is that they are allocated spaces, so there is next to no chance of all being together even if one person books the lot.

Pretty sure you can buy BSJ direct off the ACO site for £45/50...

TBH I'd be happy with BSJ too. More space, less chance of getting stuck next to any idiots (but we can find our own motorhome people to terrorise), will be taking a bike anyway, easier for other people to decide to come along too...

The fact that it's cheaper doesn't really make a lot of difference but I'm struggling to come up with any positives for BN apart from for laziness sake!

As above, I'm happy to order the tickets.

http://ticket1.lemans.org/catalogue/epr ... re=parking

The sale terms are worth reading

http://ticket1.lemans.org/apropos/conditions_popup.asp

If you decide to print out the E-ticket then if there's anything wrong with the printout, they can/will refuse it.
If you decide to collect it at the track, you have to then find where they say the tickets will be.

No mention of how much it'll cost to post them over and it could be up to 5 days before the event before you receive them

Not much use to me if it turns up on the Tuesday morning, as I'll be on my way down to the Midlands,to save me driving through the night to get down to Dover for the Thursday morning

E-ticket would be ok, as long as you take two copies in case one was damaged. They never ever scan on BSJ anyway.

True

But they do stop you and check them when you drive in.

Have they done e-ticketing in previous years? They certainly didn't look that closely at our normal tickets, but they'd have to have some kind of central system for monitoring numbers with e-tickets surely?

Off topic, but are we going on the 6am 10th June and 1800 14th june crossing? If so, and you use this code:

EBS

The total is a mere £37 including £9 of 'fuel surcharge.'

I'm thinking of booking it already...just leave the registration blank atm just in case I have something else to travel in.

And last year the campsite tickets had Bar codes, but they know they never need to use them on BSJ as it never gets totally full. Houx is a different story.

Jon, you going to the sunseeker rallye on Saturday? You an Hannah could crash at my new gaff on the way back if you wanted?

I assume so...

Dover Dunkerque I assume? I had thoughts of going from somewhere further west, but couldn't find anything reasonably priced, plus the crossing takes a lot longer!

Currently planning to take the E30 this year! :)

It would be really easy to walk out with your ticket & use it to get another car in surely?!

Up in Loughborough this weekend :(

But the same applied last year, they rely on people not knowing how to bend the rules I guess. Not once did my car get scanned in or out! Certainly not on the way out after ripping it past those slow pedestrians who wouldn't get out of the way. :)

If you are taking the red beast, i'll have to buy back the urS4 and you an m20, for old times sake!

How odd. Would be even less effort to print out multiple copies of the e-ticket!
Not saying I'm gonna risk it, but you'd think they'd be a little bit more bothered...

I'm not putting an m20 back in it, or stripes I'm afraid! :)
