Hello chaps. I could do with some more braking power, so I seriously need to get shot of the drums at the rear and swap to disks!

I have an '88 320i, what parts do I need? Or even better, if anyone has already done a step by step guide. If not I will probably do one as this must be common.

Mhmm, So, considering I am changing to brembo discs and Pagid RS29 pads. I need what parts?

I am still a bit shady...Its a pain because I am a hundred miles away from the car most of the time, so I can't take it apart and have a look hence the questions...

IMO I wouldn’t expect miracles when you fit the rear discs. Of course the extra brakes will help but from general experience the do next to naff all most of the time.

What do you mean what parts do you need? So long as you buy standard fitment discs and pads you don't need anything else.

I have drums on the rear at the minute. I mean, I can't just remove the drums and stick on calipers, discs. Or can I? I didn't think the drum rear trailing arms had caliper mounts? As I said before, I am away from the car a lot so its hard to just go have a look.

And the car is being used in the PBMWC so its just something I want to do for lower temps and less brake fade.

you need the rear disk trailing arms to replace the drum trailing arms

they can be got from any tourer, cabriolet, all 325i's and 318IS have them fitted as standard
