Looks pretty good that one. Usual rust checks required, but it looks tidy.

Yeah, I'd view it and make an offer if I were the OP. It's a nicer colour than black too.djk wrote:Looks pretty good that one. Usual rust checks required, but it looks tidy.

You'll get a nice iS or an ok 325 for that. Or a really nice touring, which I think more and more is the way to go with e30s...;)

Late tourings, like K or L reg can often turn up for sub £1k in very good order, they usually are 4 pot versions though, so may be a little sluggish, but most were in Lux spec so come with electrics etc. They are not immune to rust, but generally aren't as bad as saloons and are of course newer.
Condition of body shell is the single most important thing when buying an E30. Bolt on panels are an easy fix to get rid of rust, for example front wings, doors, bonnet & front panel etc, but dealing with rusty arches and wheel housings is expensive if you want it done correctly. A poorly specced car can easily be bought upto spec with second hand bits on here.
Better with a mint 316i you have to add some morsels to than a 325 with toys/ kit which needs an angle grinder taking to it

yeah, with all the bits and a few mates it could be done in a weekend.
Tourings and cabs also come with the larger diameter struts and disc brakes front & rear as standard, so have better running gear

just the engine loom but that just connects into the same connector on the car loom, so it is plug & play
www.carandclassic.co.uk is always good and even autotrader occasionally.on autotrader do.. make.bmw, model.3 series and then in the keyword box type the years 1988 etc..this is much faster.hope this helps
Dizzyman, if you find an "is" you are interested in go to see it but only after you have read this http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/318isfaultstable.html
For all other models look at this http://www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/bmw.html
Good luck.

I dunno, the look of the touring has really grown on me, and they tend to be quite well looked after and unthrashed if they've just been someone's 'taking the kids to football on a Saturday morning' type car..
Value for money wise, you seem to get a lot of touring for your cash too. If you don't mind the looks a 325 touring should be every bit as good as a 325 2 door. Brian Mooooooooore says they're built in a different factory and the build quality's better too. But he's probably biased!

I just got myself a 325 touring and should have done it sooner, great car very clean a very good car for the money. If you can get one i would as seem to be more and more wanted now, have had cab's and own a tec 2 sport also at the mo but this touring is a great drive and gets loads of people looking

Cheers for the offer but I can't afford the hood.
