If you were not going quickly, how did you manage to damage both ends.

well an engine is 50% oil cooled, so if your running too low on oil then that may be part of the issue. but its really only once your below the dip stick that its ever an issue.

the cutting out may be related to the over heating.

id say you have damaged the sump as well. which is easy to do when it hangs out the front like they do on these things.

The sumps there is no damage to it as far as i can see. the oil leak is comming from below the dipstick.

sanchez i'll be in touch soon about your garage.

Also my air blower fan is making a scrapping noise sounds like a moped...

I have a heater matrix as well. Easier swap when the engine is out, but still needs the dash out.

Renting a space of Neil for a week and doing it in Drem , changing the diff and sorting the suspension as well. Will be cheaper then the £600 you owe your 'mate'.

if its only doing it when the fans on it will be the heater fan not the matrix. far easier job to do and no need to remove the dash

Looks like we've got an engine swap mission on......

Jason's just called me and the diff is NLA

I assume Ronan's got the clocks from the fragger - he's on hols this week.

Don't know if anyone has the heater fan you need but it may be in Peter's garage ?

I'll talk to Neil about getting some space in Drem - not sure if there'll be any !

Think this may merit a new thread Alec.

NLA - No longer available !

Suggest something like "Help Required for M42 Engine Swap - Edinburgh area"

Ask people to put there names down if they can help and what dates they can help.
