No Clarko's is a 320i with an M20B25 in it.

Mines a 316.

Hi Steve. No this is another. I have two zinober 2dr chrome turds!

The '25i is gonna be sold and this is my latest project.

I took it to work today to chuck it up in the air for a nose. I was pleasantly surprised! :D

Pics to follow in a bit.

That looks to be a very tidy purchase, Barry. Nicely done! It'll make a great base for a project.

Ok then! Today i took the chrome to work, the first run its had since i picked it up from Bornemouth last weekend. The M10 donk with its twin choke weber conversion actually has some character but its no road burner!

I gave the wheel arches a quick jet wash after soaking them in TFR but the underside needs to be cleaned propperly with the wheels and plastic splash gaurds removed. I chucked it on the ramp and went on the hunt for rot.

I'll let the pics do the talking! :D

The inside of the inner rear arches from the boot and the boot wells.

The only rot i have found so far, and i doubt there is any more!

The M10 donk in all its glory!

I'm quite chuffed to say the least and it is by far one of the best chrome turds for lack of rot that i have seen in front of me. I can count on one hand the ones i have seen in front of me that are better.

Nothing better than pealing back trim and finding bodywork like that is there.

Looks like more of these are falling into the right hands now :)

Looks good Barry, the one inner arch looks a bit rusty or is it dirt? I can see the rear bumper is a bit bent, any sunroof nasties?

Its dirt Dan, as said i need to have a propper clean. I just gave it a quick 2min blast.

You just need to look at the seam sealer all over the panel joins for its lack of brown staining an completeness.

Bumper corner certainly is bent, no sunroof nastys will take some more pics as i forgot.

I think this car has had aplications of waxoil in the past, extra stuff that doesn't look factory.

Bloody hell that is remarkably solid. 8)

Its a shame about the rust around the rear lights though.

Naturally this will get flooded with wax oil.

The interior will all be removed at some point during the build and everything underneath the car will be replaced so its basicly be stripped to a shell, this is when it will be waxoiled thoroughly.

Just a small update. I picked up a donor car today which will be used for its engine. I decided in the end to go M52B28 for various reasons, mainly because of the £/bhp ratio and if i decide to go S5x at some point, some of the parts used to install the M52 can be used again.

The turd in question was a very basic spec M reg 328i auto coupe. Its done 106k but it had the nikasil block change done at approx 40k so it has a steel linered block with only 60k on it.

Next step is to order some E28 M5 engine mount rubbers, track down an E34 M50 sump, dipstick and oil pump pick up so i can rip out the M10 donk and at least get the M52 sitting in the bay so its out the way and the E36 can be weighed in.

Oh, and i need to track down an M52B28/S50B30 ZF box.

Are the S52 cams still for sale in parts?

M50 inlet and throttlebody is a must too isn't it.

Just like to say I witnessed this M10 turd yesterday and condition wise it's mightily impressive. F*cking basic though 8O . Doubt it will be by the time the Bazzlas finished with it.

Plus, if theres any REAL TRUE deviants out there who want an M10 donk for say a concours resto or similar, I took the oil cap off this one and f*ck me!!!! It's like brand new in there. Shame to bin such a good one despite them being shit!!

Joysus, feckin tidy shell that. Seems 24v Chromies are the way to go in zoneland these days. I'd keep it povo, just add CL and PAS (z3 rack?) to make it bearable.
