Its all about the quality of work. Im doing body repair at college so i know a good paint job is all about good prep. £100 is very very cheap considering the amount of work needed. You should find out what type of product he uses aswell.
My cousins mate had a quote for his wing mirrors for his evo of £40 but didnt want to go for it as it was to cheap. He ended up paying £120

As long as you know the quality of work is good then £100 is fine.
Just ask for some examples of work and other prices on things.
Would normally cost £100 to get a spoiler painted at a good price just as a comparison.

If it's just bubbling lacquer and no dent / scratch / filler repairs then £100 is the cheap end of average. Whether the car is in great nick or is a bit tatty plays a part too.

I'm inclined to say £150 is a good price for a bonnet. A couple of people I know have quoted that price to me to do a top notch job, and as I know them personally I know it's a good price for going the extra mile.. It's a big panel and easy to see any tiny defects in. Takes a bit of prep to get A1.
