Hi people,
E30 zone is busy!
This is my first few posts so hello to you all.I have a 4dr 88' 316i that i'm due to swap the M30 3.5 into from an E34 i have in my workshop.
I need more parking space and i should really get this project started so i'm going to get on with it.
I already have a set of mounts lined up from a forum member, but i need to get rid of the E34 shell soon
SO..
i've done some forum searching and found a few bits i may need but i dont want to bin the E34 shell and find out later there was stuff on it i would have needed.
Can anyone itemise the most valuable/critical bits i'll need to take off this weekend before i bin it?So far i have:
1. Engine bay wiring loom
2. Motor and gearbox
3. Gear selector and stick (apparently different so i'm going to keep it anyways)
4. Diff and rear frame (my 316 is only a 4stud, i heard the 'compact' rear frame and discs/diff/shafts is a direct swap so i'm not too sure what to do there )
5. ...... help..
Thanks in advance!, if there is anyone locally who might want some work done / help with other car related work (or could help me if i need it!) i have an established garage (Kent Car Craft) in Ramsgate in Kent to help out.
Cheers!
Owen

Hi dude, where's Kent Car Craft?

Nice to see a conversion like that taking place cant help you with any guidance on the conversion front but it might be worth a PM to Driftboy who (much to my disgust) has decided to break his M30 turbo conversion and may still have some usefull bits left.

If you want some help spannering, a spare pair of hands, or just making the tea I could be of some use as only down in Margate.

Actually, on that point I have an E34 which is going to need some bits. What parts are salvageable (ie wheels tyres, suspension etc)

Why do you think that IMY was displaying the "M30 Turbo Cabby" in his Sig?
He was apparently talking to Driftboy about taking the lot of him to put in his cab :D

No idea, but from what IMY told me he was selling the whole set up for a good price too.
I haven't seen him on here for a while though, it's all yours anyway, all my money's tied up in the wheels atm.

Getting the engine is the easy paet, but you need a rolling road to set it up.
