Sorry for wrong section....but urgent help required. I am changing the rubber boot and cleaning the ICV on the intake side but don't know the best way to clean the ICV. What can I use inside it, and is there any way of getting the internal bit clean. Can I use water??

thanks

Wrong section.
OMG, there's a reason why there's a technical section - so as posts don't get cluttered up and so are generally grouped together.

Honestly, the amount of crap organisation (note: this is not aimed at mods, but aimed at the users this service is provided for, but still unable to use correctly).

FUC|< SAKE!

yeah thats fine mate but no one looks in there. i thought the whole dpoint of this forum was to help people out and if its just a quick one off then it gets seen here. It can be deleted now i have an answer, but if i'd posted in technical then it would be a week before i got any help and my car would be in pieces. come on man, surely there are better things to rant about??

daz, thanks for help mate will give that a shot

end of problem, post can be locked, deleted, key swallowed etc etc...:gay:

Dude it's the fact that 'because no one looks in there' is completely wrong, I go to the Tech Section first thing every time I visit the Zone, because generally (much like this question you have 'urgently' asked) is simple to answer and will get answered almost straight away.
Another reason for going to the Tech Section is where most E30 talk is, as E30 Chat is now full of sh*t and the Tech Section makes interesting reading.

Edit: The root of what made this thread standout the most is the fact the thread is in CAPITALS - you didn't write the rest of the thread in caps, so why bother with the title? And It's not URGENT - I'm sure you're able to wait the length of time until someone posted a reply (if this was correctly posted in Tech Section) which probably would've been a maximum of 5 minutes.

you've just answered your own question mate, it makes it stand out a bit, and as a rule i don't write sentences in capitals because its harder to read and stupid.

as for whether it's urgent or not, that's for me to decide, not you - you have no idea of my 'busy-ness' or otherwise.

This should really have been posted in the tech section. I always monitor the tech section more than the others for reasons that Jim mentioned.

Lets leave this topic be now as William now has the answer. Carb cleaner only to clean it. Don't use anything oil based like WD40 because it will clog with dirt.
