I have just bought a 325i sport and noticed that the brake fluid warning light lights up when I brake. I have topped up the fluid and renewed the reservoir cap but the problem persists. I'm not losing any brake fluid and the brakes are working very well. The only other thing I have noticed is that the waning light does not light initially with the other warning lights when I turn the ignition on (only when I press the brake pedal). Can anyone advise what might be wrong?

Thanks for your help.

IIRC, that light is also the brake-wear indicator...I suspect your pads are getting low or the wires/sensors are shorting out somewhere

The brake fluid warning light is seperate from the pad wear light, but I suspect you're getting them mixed up, as this sounds like typical pad wear indicator behaviour.
Fluid level light has a big exclamation mark in the middle, pad wear light is a circle with six dots around it.

Thanks for the replies, the car is going in for a check on Friday so I'll get them to check the pads while it is in.
