Mock fitted the Chrome bumper to the front of the car today.
Had to leave the later type valance on , as i discovered i had,nt got the right male st4 torx
socket. Also could,nt change to the later indicators, as i did,nt have a female st4 torx socket.
Does,nt look too bad imho. Sides of bumper are,nt fixed atm, so possibly looks worse
than it will, when fixed to early type valance. Or, i might try to find away to fit the sides
with the valance that,s on it now.

The rear bumper promises to be fun.

Cheers Shaun, got one here mate. Just having a bit of a battle getting the old one off.
Managed to get the later type indicators fitted, but was to dark for photo,s.
Not happy though as they don,t fit in the bumper like the old ones.
May chop the later indicator wiring, solder early type on and refit the older flashers.

Have temporarily fitted the pre face lift valance, will remove and respray at a later
date. Time for the rear Bumper now. I know there are at least two people on here thave have fitted Tech 1 Bumpers to facelift cars, would i be right in assuming i will have to
follow the same procedures? Iirc, part of the rear Valance needs cutting/altering. Any info
re this would be greatly appreciated. There is an IX Touring on Retro Rides that has the same changes as i,m doing, but unfortunately the detail for the rear Bumper is almost non existant.
Incidentally, the F/R original Bumpers, front valance, Foglights and Brake Cooling ducts
will be up for sale soon.

What is the Black plastic lip in the picture below btw

Thats just a standard lip spoiler, can be called the SE lip spoiler. Its what came on most facelift cars.

Took advantage of a very beautiful morning...... and being woken by a very noisy
Postman.. Grrrrr.. to fit the prefacelift spoiler and indicator ( supplied by Adi )
to my mongel Touring.

Wouls have liked to been able to respray the Valance, Fog blanks and Spoiler before
the Midlands meet, but looking unlikely atm. Oh well.

Today, using a pair of old front prefacelift Bumper mounts, and an old
scrap Bumper, i have fitted a rear Bumper to the Touring.

Used the exisiting holes that held the Prefacelift Bumpers, and as can be obviously
seen in the pics i need to make some new holes higher up.

Also need to work out a way of shortening the sides of the Bumpers, as these
are reaching the Wheelarches already , and have,nt even got the Endcaps on.
Not to everyones taste i know, but it,s keeping me occupied and faintly amused.

That's proving a bit of a pig.
Surely the rear bumper will never sit right, because the recess for the facelift bumpers is bigger than those of a chrome car?
Still if you get it sitting right, it will look fantastic.

It has been done Ollie, although the Bloke doing it admits he needs to make some slight
alterations. http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... 712&page=1.
Have emailed the owner for more info on the rear, but no response as yet.
Like i say, it,s keeping me amused and occupied. I do have an idea re filling the recess,
but it may be a bit too complicated. It involves cutting through the entire length
of the Bumper, getting a section welded in, and then using the Facelift rubber trim
to cover the welded in section.
