Chaps,

I'm looking for a roll of Trimbrite black out tape, which is tape that is used to conceal chrome / faded door and window trim.

I'm struggling to find a supplier in the UK and wondered if anybody knows where to get it from please ?

Many thanks,

George

dont know, sorry.

alternatively, you could go to your local sign makers shop as i did on a previous chromie and ask for self adhesive matt black vinyl (sicky back plastic in blue peter speak" and tell them the exact dimensions you need, eg 1metre by 10cm or something. if you measure the exact width required, it will make sure you get all that faded chrome covered without leaving a strip on one side...

Is that known as being the best brand or something?

Found this one otherwise... http://www.voguebmw.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=kuw090

Does this do a good job of 'shadow-lining' the chrome trim? I've thought about doing this instead of spraying or replacing my chrome, but i'm worried it'll look wrong or start to peel...

Would be interested in the finish of this too..suppose nothing can compare to the original - shadowline trim?

Spot on Ziggy, that'll do fine !!

I'm unsure if Trimbrite is the best brand, but it's what Total BMW used for their E39 project. It seemed to work well..

Thanks again. :thumb:

NP. I've never used the stuff so can't guarantee it'll work! Let us know how it goes...
