Hi there guys ..... I am looking for some coilovers for my e30 1.8is.

I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction. At current I have 60mm all round on a hot tanning kit.

Something that is on a budget..... What I am after is a slamming look with a fair bit of a comfort ride.

All help is much appreciated
Regards
Jazz

your ride wont get any better slammed on coilovers as compared to the 60mm springs, so simply forget comfort

cheap coilovers = hot tuning

And I can do discount on Spax, so you've got several good options!

I really, really don't rate KW apart from their really top end stuff, mid range is all rebranded other companies.

no1jazz - you really do get what you pay for at the bottom end of the market, and almost ALL of them are the same units rebranded!

i am looking for coilovers for my E30 1.8is and my E36 2.3i i am wanting both cars to sit on the floor as thats the look i like. Both cars are now kept in the garage untill a show day comes along so both are not everyday cars.

Jon I’m just in the research stage and being a student it is hard to save so I am doing my best to save up for the good stuff like

H&R
Intrax

I am also looking to slam the car rite to the ground as much as possible with the rite wheels.
Thanks for the info guys

if thats what you want, buy the cheap stuff

do you fully understand what coilovers are for because intrax and other top end brands will be of no use to you

jazz use them how you want mate no1 can tell you if you are going to make use of them or not to its full potential......i was a student not long ago and i understand the feeling of just knowing you have quality parts installed into your motor so work hard and save harder so you can then enjoy what you have mate.

kos has a point..

a little advice if you are using it as a everyday car then do as i am and make sure you go for the mid range brands as the top end 1's will do the same but just cost more.

hot tuning/raceland is about the only ones worth going for if you just want to deck the car. by decking the car you will not really have and ride comfort. that goes down the toilet.

also worth noting, with the mid and top end stuff if you over lower the car and some thing fails because you are running the shock in manor that its not supposed to be used then your warrenty is void. so dispite my person view that you buy cheap you'll buy twice, in this case i'll say buy the cheap ones simply becasue the high end stuff will serve no extra function to you and have no bennefit what so ever and in the mannor that theywill be used. if something fails, hot tuning will refund you or send a replacement, unlike the top end brands

I thought 318is were 52mm struts too, so 325 would work.
