As long as you keep it clean in there then fine. Whip them off every year after the winter to give it a good clean out and there should be no probs.

Go for it Simon! Protect those lower panels from stone chips.
My touring has had flaps on for the last 6 years with no flap-related rot issues. All the talk of flaps causing rot is bollox. Practically every car I've ever owned over the last 30-odd years has had flaps and none of them had rot anywhere near the flaps.

The mudflaps used to scrape and bang on the ground a bit on my touring sometimes, which is the main thing that made me remove them. Even though the car is only lowered a small amount, I find it a pain to clean if the in the arches with mudflaps on.
Probably handy to have on your touring as you do a few miles in it.

My red one pictured was on boge dampers and 40mm spax springs. I used to be able to get the mud flaps to scrape when going for it on my favourite back roads in the corners
It was a soft setup with stock roll bars but still. Used to sh!t me up at first until i worked it out!
I'll get a fitting kit ordered up

My Dad used to have some like this fitted to his Mk2 Golf gti.

I've no love for a mud flap!
Funny you posted this as this afternoon at work i removed the BMW flaps from my new bit of chrome and they went straight in the bin!

Now the mudflap histeria has died down it back to business and to answer tomsons question yes a wash happened today in the sun to rid it of all the winters sh!te! A ruddy good scrub everywhere!

Nice and clean, shes just ticked over 187,000 miles

Spoiler is well f**ked i know. I need to get it repaired

Epic camber on the front!

With the e36 which is also clean. Engine bay and inside need a clean too but the MOT runs out tuesday
So need to get another ticket for her this week.
I'm getting itches to get A/C retro fitted possibly and maybe see if a Z3 can be made to work with the 6 branch. What do we think?
Must mean we've had it nearly 2 years! Where did that go
