Alrite guys, im planning on buying a LHD E30 (not m3). Will all RHD mechanical parts fit on LHD's? Incase some thing was to go wrong.
Cheers

LHD has a differently shaped bulkhead to RHD.
Mirror brackets are different(fixed to mirror cases so cannot be swapped)
Wiper gear is very different,RHD has 3 mounts for the motor,LHD one.RHD needs an extra support on the r/h side.
Pedal box is different,RHD incorporates throttle linkage,LHD mounts throttle linkage direct to the bulkhead.
LHD car wiring loom is very different in length in some areas.Worth noting that door looms are driver's and pax door, not LHD/RHD.
LHD brake fluid thingy incorporates clutch fluid as well,RHD tacks a seperate container on to the r/h suspension turret.
Door locks are 'handed' as well,LHD driver's door lock will not fit RHD driver's door.

Touring that I converted had lived in the south of France for most of it's life,95% rust free,at 340,000 klm!pegase747 wrote:Both mine are LHD and I have to say it is better in France..![]()
Cheers Pierre

I've toyed with the idea of a left hooker, just for the lack of interference between exhaust and steering column - if it were a track car, that'd definitely be the way I'd go.
