Rear springs can break

Nikasil issues ( check whether the block has a metal "tag" bolted onto the N/S - if it does you'll be OK if not you might still be alright but any sign of ough running walk away )

Front windows drop slightly when the door is open - make sure they do drop when you open the door and pop back up to seal when closed.
Front electric windows can also develop issues which mean they don't goup and down properly

Front balljoint/wishbone arrangement is crap on E36's - can be replaced with E30 items IIRC which are better.

Apart from that just the usual old-car issues :D

:ttiwwp: - Lets have a look then :D

E36's ball joints are crap they had plastic sleeves around the joint that break up over a relatively short period of time and start rattling like most ball joints do over the years

Mine are on the way out now

Just need to pillage the relatively new ones off the spare E30 then... As well as swapping struts on my E30 too. Gonna be a busy weekend for the balljoint splitter!
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...
