Those discs 315mm then? I nearly got hold of a set of E36 M3 stuff, but TBH, Im glad I didnt - I dont want to run 17s and I dont think those discs and calipers will fit behind 16s
also wire brushed the calipers and painted them black.
yeah thats my fave look too m8SwirlyE30 wrote:Tech 2 with a early spoiler rules mate! Once your cars done it will look quality

i used the front legs off an e36 m3,
but used the e30 top mounts as the spring touched the turret!.
it all just bolts straight in.
i had one or two comments that it wouldn't work but, trust me it does!
i did change the bush at the rear of the control arm for e30 m3 eccentic bushes but that's because with 17's i couldn't get full lock.
Dont the E36 M3 legs position the wheel too far back in the arch, so some offset eyeball thingy (dont you just love the technical talk
) is needed to move the wheel back into the centre of the arch?
And those calipers with the ///M looks

thanks sy, the trouble is though, what an awesome project! so well documented too!

haha yeah i can imagine... i was a heavy vauxhall man before, had loads of gsi and sri cavs, but took a chance on a 325i sport and I really love the car! plus this is a great forum wi loads of interesting stuff going on and friendly people!
I would love to attempt a conversion from an M535i into the sport... u think this would be possible (obviously seeing how u have squeezed that monster into your bm! simply awesome)
has anybody attempted this? A mate tells me the M535i engine can be bought rather cheaply from bmw (whether there is any truth to this is another story).
glenn, what stage are you now at with the 350???

filled the power steering up with oil, all working sweet as.
had the back axle off this week re-bushed the carrier, painted the main beam.
the axle is back on now along with a couple of new brake pipes.
changed the shock-absorber top mounts as well as they were worn.
desperatly trying to get it ready for the track day that chaos has organised
at the end of october.
wont be ready for mot then, but should be ready for the track.
will be good to give it a shake-down.
got to pick up a new brake pipe tomorrow to link the master cylinder across the bulkhead, i can then try the brakes.

Know its a silly question, but how much would you charge Glenn to make one of these for someone with a pot of cash? You obviously have the know how, just want to know how much you would dent my lottery winnings (if I won that is) to make me a car like yours will be. That is gonna be a serious piece of kit when its done.....

Hi Glenn,
I see that your 'Beast' is nearly ready for some shakedowns, must be quite exciting but nervous all at the same time.
From the picture I have just seen you have dual cone Air Filtres set approx behind the rear of the front lights, based I assume, on the theroy that the 'Free Cold Air'' coming into the engine bay through the Grill openings will feed the MAF's.
While I think this may well work for short periods, any hard prolonged driving use of long journey's may well cause problems.
What will more than likely happen is that as the heat in the engine builds up, Alloy Block etc, enormus heat sink will occur in the engine bay and will cause the MAF's to slowly buy surely retard the engine via the knock sensors on Banks one and two.
The two solutions to overcome this potential hazzard are to fit an ITS kit, available from BeastPower.com there UK agent is CA-Automotive, about 75 USD whereby you make the MAF's believe that the Air into the Plenum is colder than it is.
This Mod is used by a lot of M5's in warmer climates.
Or you could pipe cold free air collected from the front of the car, need at least a 75- 80mm pipe for each MAF, into a sealed air Filtre intake and then feed the MAF's that way.
While I have no doubt that your car will run OK when cold, as the temps rise, you will notice a dramatic decrease in power as the MAF's start recording warmer air.
Maybe some slots or vents at the windscreen edge of the bonnet, to create a airflow and allow the warmer air out might also help.
I would also seriously recommend that you change the Exhaust cam sensors and O rings for new ones on Banks One and two, as these things can cause all sorts or running issues, and for the sake of about 60.00 each, its a problem you do not want when trying to set the car up.
These sensors can be fine one momnet and not the next and then ok again.
Still hope this small bit helps with the much bigger picture.
Regards,
The Gorilla.

what you want to do is price up the parts alone,OllieB wrote:Know its a silly question, but how much would you charge Glenn to make one of these for someone with a pot of cash? that'll bring a tear to your eye
if you still wanted it done,i'd do it no problem.
hello again gorilla,From the picture I have just seen you have dual cone Air Filtres set approx behind the rear of the front lights, based I assume, on the theroy that the 'Free Cold Air'' coming into the engine bay through the Grill openings will feed the MAF's.
they're position is temporary at the moment, i dont know if you can see in the pics, but i've actually cut out a section under the bonnet hinges
to allow the intake pipes to go directly behind the kidney grills, but i had to source 80mm extensions for the intake pipes, which i picked up today and i'll put them on next week.
you can say that again!!!!!!!I see that your 'Beast' is nearly ready for some shakedowns, must be quite exciting but nervous all at the same time.

i changed the servo and master cylinder today as the one that was on there didn't have big enough pistons to supply to slave's.
i've now got a 25mm piston master cylinder set-up off a mk3 transit.
my mate own's a breakers, not too far from me, so i had the servo and master cylinder for a tenner.
changed it over today with a few small modifacations,
and now the brakes feel fantastic!.
next job is to sort the handbrake.

not much andy,
but you've done a big conversion so you know there'll be things to modify for some time yet i suppose!
things left to do are handbrake, change fuel pump to a 5bar pump, tidy up the electics in the cabin and fit an electric fan.
i'll be taking it to a track day shortly, so i expect a few things to 'develop'
then

Not sure i'd like to do the intial shake down on a track day but at least you know if any thing is (touch wood it doesn't though) going to give any probs you have the rest of the Welsh crew to help out.
I'd be tempted by the track day my self if it wasn't so far away
