Hi all,

I have to consider all options at the moment and unfortunately getting rid of the e30 as it is has to be a consideration. I need to know what its worth and if i had to get rid of it, what would be the best thing to do... I've got no experience in shifting a car in this state...

For your information - I'm not taking this decision lightly... the car was driven mainly by my mum until its started giving trouble - then she lost confidence in it. I've kept it in good order because i love it. However, mum has been recently diagnosed with cancer and wont be driving for some time... I don't have the finances to run two cars, where one needs a lot of work only to sit outside not being used. Apparently i can get money back to from the road tax and insurance for the remaining period...??

I know its a relatively easy fix, 2 doors and a bumper... but really it comes down to a finance/time question...

I think its got about 6 + road tax and mot.. i need to check this..
The alp reps are in need of refurb
so too is the mtech steering wheel
sports rear view mirror
interior is in v good condition
there are cracks on the dash like most e30's
and rust in a couple of usual places most visable on the front valance

if you need more info to give me a guide just say otherwise any advice would be much appreciated.

This is the picture i posted recently when the accident happened.

Thanks all. Jason

Value before damage - cost of doors/bumper - a couple of hundred and you would shift it on here

Yes you can cash in the road tax to DVLA and if you paid for your insurance up front for a year you can claim back some of it.

what engine is in it and what colour is that sterling or lachs silver?

if you look on the pass side strut top under the bonnet there will be a sticker that tells you the colour.

i'm interested.

with the damage its worth about £100 to £150 a straight 320i can be picked up for around £300 thats how much my touring was and thats straight and quite clean.

Surely the wheels are worth more than that alone?

I'd be tempted to put another bumper on it and take doorcards of damaged doors put your feet in there and push most of the dents out and then just bung on ebay. :)

Thanks for the advice lads...so as it stands were looking at 200 max? And if the doors/bumper were done then what? it cant be much more... so in the circumstance, is it worth the repair?...It pains me but i think i'd have to agree with town325i the wheels might be worth more but i don't have any replacements so i would sell them with the car which doesn't make a pretty package. You've given me more to think about... :?

I would say the car is worth more than £200 - it looks fairly clean damage aside - most cost effective options would be to repair (as cheap as possible and sell) or frag it yourself. I wouldnt sell it as it is for £200

swap the wheels for standrad wheels and then sell it. sell the wheels seperately.

so your telling me you would buy a 4 door 320i damaged for more than £200 when a straight one can be picked up for as little as £50 more. I dont think so
