The 300mm kit brackets are still being machined but I did get firm prices today (a bit lower, which reduces the kits as well), so I'm now 95% sure this is going to be the state of play!

All before zoner 5% discount:

15" inc 325i BBS
4P025 (280x22mm - existing kit) £439.75+vat

I've been working on the previously stalled E30 M3 kit again (thanks Theo! :thumb: ) and I had forgotten how ANNOYING the M3 strut is!!!

The bad news is that the SMALLEST kit I can do with the WMS caliper range currently "live" is 320x32mm.

The good news is I am going to get a one-off kit made up within weeks and offer it up for grabs! It will need a 17" alloy with heaps of caliper room.

Drop me a PM if you want it!

can't wait!

I did some research Rav and the alpina was the worst wheel for fitment of the 4P028 needing I think a 5mm spacer?
My Hartge splits are fine but the single piece need a 2mm spacer to clear the back of the spokes :(
Don't know about the RS' I suspect they will be ok
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

Neither can I - I like new stuff (and thanks again for the help)! :D

The 16" Alpina is very very tight, in fact I won't know for sure if the new kit fits in it until I have the brackets so I can do a double-check on my profiles. Fingers crossed, otherwise it'll be a "2mm short" version of the bracket at some point specifically for that wheel.........here's hoping it'll fit.

Keri, massivebrakes.com offers 300mm x 32mm kit suited to 15" wheels vs WMS 300x26mm or 298.5x24mm suited to 16". For what they achieve that?

I've done some tests with the 300mm kit and the PDF profiles I created earlier were indeed bulkier than reality (which I was hoping for!). This might just let them inside the 16" Alpina after all....? :?:

I saved over the old versions, here are the links again, to make sure you have the right version look for the 170.8mm dimension.

I've just been messing about with the Alu version of the BBS and it's got less room for brakes due to small wedges behind the spokes!!! Barstewards!

The photos above are of the fit inside the FPS-BBS, the Alu-BBS does need the 2.0mm spacer being tighter but does still fit, the BBS-BBS is to be confirmed but should be fine...

Here's the (random but E30 diameter!) 260mm disc vs the 4P025 (G60) disc vs the 4P028 disc:

If someone's got a HT4 to hand, would it be possible to see if the the 298.5mm/4P028 kit fits by printing and trying this template? www.keri.co.uk/wms/4P028-E30-298_5mm-T20-rotated.pdf

Soon, very soon.....the first pair of the calipers I plan to use on the M3 are due here as part of the batch that's being made now.

After quite a few people asked, I just added details to page one of this thread for:

- E30 EBC Red, Yellow and Blue pads.
- E30 4-hose Earls braided line kit.

&

- M3 (E30) EBC Red, Yellow and Blue pads.
- M3 (E30) 6-hose Earls braided line kit.

:)

Gonna have to print out the 300mm PDF and see if they'll fit my wheels. I have 17" Alpina reps. If my eyes don't betray me, I believe the reps would have a little more room, as the spokes seem to sit out a little farther in the dish.

If all looks good with the PDF, I'm adding the 300mm to my "save up for" list.

Sounds like a plan! For what it's worth I'm told the 4P028 kit is really tight inside the 16" genuine Alpina and needs about 6mm of wheel spacer to clear the spokes.....but the reps might be totally different especially being 17".....

Hoping for good news tho. I will have the PDF's ready to go, and then just have to wait until next time I'm at the Auto Hobby Shop so I can take the wheel off. Don't have a jack that can get under the Tech1 with the 60/40 Supersport

I've had this kit fitted to the car now for a good couple of months and as such would like to add a few words to the Zone in case anyone was thinking of taking the plunge.

Image

The kit I have fitted is the 298.5mm (G60) setup with Red Stuff pads and thus far has been nothing short of fantastic. To qualify my opinion I have owned cars with very good Brembo 4-pot systems and as such compare the WMS kit to those.

The main reason for such delight is the difference on initial application of pedal between the systems. The Brembos would bite hard very soon, but with the WMS kit there seems to be a lot more feel and progression. It is as though you take your first estimate and are then free to add or remove braking friction as you so wish.

Longevity doesn't seem an issue yet, but then they are new. By longevity I mean the way they stand up when they've been used hard for a significant amount of time. There doesn't appear to be any difference between 'warmed up' and 'hot' discs. I must add though that they are quite vocal, squealing at many people quite indiscriminately! This happens with brakes that are performance orientated so it doesn't bother me too much at all.

You will struggle with wheel selection. Alpinas and BBS wheels below 17 inches are out. Forget 15 inch for that matter too! Another reason for the feedback now is the fact that luckily my favourite wheels (TH Mono) will fit in the 1680 fitment, but alas these will hide the great looking and yet subtle calipers. It is very pleasing to look at the wheel from a distance and see a rim-full of disc too!

They get my utter recommendation. With Keri's unflinching support and assistance in all matters relating to their fitment and shoehorning into a set of wheels right through to stupid questions post delivery I can't imagine any need to look elsewhere for fantastic stoppers for your E30.
