Well, my car no longer has a full service history.
I did an Inspection 1 today. I just checked and the last one I had done at the Speciallists was Ԛ£140. The parts for this one were under Ԛ£40.
I figure that as I don't intend changing my car until it's terminally rotten, there's no point in spending hundreds of pounds keeping up the history.
.............And apart from that, I don't trust garages to do stuff I'm more than capable of doing myself :cheese:
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Shame that you had to go down that route, but it had to happen at some point because the prices these garages charge are too expensive IMO and as for trust/honesty from them, it sucks basically.

Keep all your receipt and add to them the mileage and date you serviced your vehicle.....its as good as a stamp in the book for the older car.

I am able to tackle most jobs on my car but draw the line at electricals just for lack of knowledge, but everytime I do something to the car, I learn something new.

Who cares?

The sooner the engine dies the sooner you can get a proper engine in there.

The 4-pot beast is coming up to 188k now, and still not been serviced

I'm off to France with it tomorrow as well, 400 mile round trip :?

Got just over 47mpg on one 20 quid fill-up a few weeks ago :D

How's the guzzler of a 6-pot doing?

guzzler is returning exceptional MPG, given that its off the road at the moment. Hung up the keys for a while as it needs front wishbones and tax-decided not to run it for a month or 2 to free up capital to fix it (was doing 1200 a month purely for social, so swallowing cash  )

get that 4pot serviced-if essbee has the guts, so should you :D

except that the car doesnt get serviced :hammer:

you'll not be as impressed when the spark plugs get shagged and break up in the engine, or the oil gets too thick to lubricate properly and stuff gets scored 8O
