I had a look around the wiki site last night and stumbled across the E30 touring register.
It wasnt in the same style format as the rest of the registers so i have changed the layout to the best of my abilities 8O
I put my car on so anyone with a touring get it on there as there isnt many listed compared to the other E30 registers 8)

Maybe we should have a 'used to be a rusty old 316i auto with bottletops, now an m3 replica still with a 316i auto' register!

Just a couple of wee observations on the wiki - There are 2 325ix registers and somebody (red car, registration uaz 7626) has made an arse of the 325 register which incidently should be the 325i register.

There are alot of mistakes in the wiki registers now really. the 318iS has been altered by mistake, and so has the 316i register which has sombody's details in the title instead of them putting it in their own box.

Your welcome!

There are too many different models of touring to have a touring register.

Car registers are generally for specific models that are getting thin on the ground.

What and half the other registers arent common e30's? what a stupid comment, all e30's are getting thin on the ground including tourings.

Its not a stupid comment as there are too many variants for one register!

316i
318i
320i
325i
325iX etc etc

The other registers are model specific ie 325i Sport, 318iS etc.

nope, you're not the only one

"registers" my arse. i had this conversation with the car club earlier this week. i dont see the point of registers unless you want to fully document correctly every car, but its only worth doing for the rare models.

but if its to make some on happy and feel special then, just let them be

Maybe so. There seems to be a theme of none standard interesting ones listed at least! Same could be said for the convertable register but theres only 2 cars in it :o

Its only a bit of fun anyway and most importantly its free :D

The touring register is too wide a range of cars, as has been said.

Thats why there isn't a 2 door, 4 door register.

I have always felt its to unregulated. I mean, some one can write an artical say a retro fit of somethng or other and they way the wikki is means it can be altered by anyone!

I preffered the old style articles section.

What happened to the original articles?

Sorry but touring is the nicest shape e30, it has to be said. Other than the m3 i'd be hard pushed to buy any other e30. Therfore it would be useful to track down a touring history. My opinion obviously!

Well said that man :D

Its a unique model even if it did have several different engine options.

its also the car that made estate cars cool to own, so quite an important car.

maybe so, but have you seent he info that goes into the wiki, its pointless jibberish. nothing of any real value. chassis numbers, engine numbers are the most improtant but not stated.

its a waste of space

Wiki's are a fantastic way to share information when used properly, but sadly they are only as good as their users because all entries can be edited by any !"£$wit who fancies a try.

So basically, we're screwed.

I've visited quite a few car forums now, and the very best effort I've come accross so far is the HOWTO section on the Fiat Coupe forum

http://www.fccuk.org/forum/ubbthreads.p ... =37&page=1

If we could combine that sort of recording with BrianMoore's knowledge (and others) we'd be able to write our own Haynes manual in a couple of years.

edit: One of the slightly weird things about that forum is that they don't like images in posts, they have to be linked - so apart from that, their guides rock.

Well what a lot of sour old grapes ...the wiki is ok ,..there are some articles that are crap but others that are useful and bss325i if you read the other article properly it might make sense to you as I could not delete that one when I added the other bits

I agree the registers are useless, we should have a proper register of cars in a separate section that zone members own like the Fiat one

of course Kos knows exactly how to set up a cab rear window and the articles from TBMW are unreadable ...maybe he should extend his knowledge and try and improve them and brianmoore might like the old articles section but you could not put pdf's in it or sift through it as easily :x

Hmm, the wiki could be vastly improved by making the "Categories" page the home page....
