Not having a good day with the iS!

Hi guys

All of a sudden today my heater blower stopped blowing altogether. After switching blower off and on a few times it finally started up again but it now makes a nasty "grinding" noise. I won't get chance to take a look until the weekend but is it sounding like the motor is fubar'd??

Also, for some reason my wipers have decided to do an intermittent wipe whenever they feel like it... when the wipers are switched off!! They work ok on all the other settings.

Anyone got any ideas?

i should think the wipers will be down to the motor being dirty and needing a refurb, although saying that i dont see why they are so eager to clear the screen even when switched off? sorry i cant be more help but i would definetly whip the motor out its bound to be full of crud, there is a guide on the wiki.

If you're lucky the fan motor will respond well to being taken out and carefully lubricated with thin oil.
For the wiper problem, take off the fusebox lid, and check that nothing metallic has slid under the large black rectangular wiper control module.
