It would not be anything later than an E30 for me. And as soon as I can afford to properly run one, I will own an E24 anyway.
2002/1602 is the E10 series btw.

It depends what for really........if it was for the workhorse, of all the 3 series' apart from the e30, Id go for the e90, those 320ds really are something in terms of economy
if its for the fun factor a 2002 please

already got an E36 Touring as a Daily driver - when I upgrade it will probably be to an E46 Touring as E90's will be out of my price range for a few years yet

e30topless said : Proper BMW's have 4 headlights, last of the run was the E30 and E34/E32 anything after that is just complete shite

The chroie is my summer toy so I voted 36 as I fancy an M3 3.2 for a fun. I can runit into the frowns then use the motor in my next project.
Would love an 2002 or an E21 but can't be bother with another resto. Get in it screw it abuse it and then scrap the E36 shell and put the running gear to proper use

e21 hard to get hold of in decent nick
e36's are the worse looking 3 series imo
well spec'd e46 are lovely and i would deffintly buy one if i had the chance/money
i really like the e9X's too but too much money for me
and the 02's are too old for me as i use my car as a daily but nice cars as a classic

It's a close thing between the E46 and the 2002.
I'd have a 2002tii in inka with the circular chrome back light clusters in a heartbeat. Oh yeah I'd have to have somewhere other than the street to keep it - which I don't!!

2002, with a 2 litre S14 in it. When I win this lottery I keep promising myself...
Realistically, an E36 compact, then stick an M52 in it.

Not in E30s any more

You've missed out the E8x 1 series.
I've had 2 E36's and 2 E46's.
I want a 135i and in a couple of years when prices are in the mid teens i'm gonna get one!
It will be getting a quaife LSD and various Hartge and BMW performance parts!

What's the biggest engine you can get in a 1. I reckon the s54 would be right at home in one. Just get rid of the runflats I sign me up.

3.0 in the hatch and 3.0 twin turbo in the coupe.Dezzy wrote:What's the biggest engine you can get in a 1. I reckon the s54 would be right at home in one. Just get rid of the runflats I sign me up.
Runflats aint as bad as the press make out but i would still go for a conventional tyre.
