I have the opportunity to buy the bits needed to convert the manual sunroof in my 325 to an electric one. I was wondering if anyone had done this and if so how complex it is to do?

Cheers Rich

There was a recent thread on this. Basically - Remove maual handle/gearbox assembly.
Drill out rivets holding black metal plate in place and fix black plate from electric roof in it's place with small nuts and bolts.
Fix electric motor in place to the previously unused threaded holes in the gold coloured backplate, through holes in the black plate. Note, the bolt nearest the left of the car needs a longer than standard bolt and a small spacer fitted where there was a threaded boss on the original electric gold plate. (It did on mine, anyway).
For some unknown reason the motor bolt holes on mine wouldn't quite line up with the threaded holes, and I had to drill the motor holes oversize to get it to fit.
Electric wiring is simple. Brown wire goes to threaded tab to the right of the motor assembly. Single feed wire goes down left hand screen pillar to a pin near the middle of the accessories connector behind/above the glovebox. It will only fit in one place. You will also need to add fuse 17 (30A) and relay K5 if not already fitted.
