hi all
my heater fan has just decided to make one hell of a noise,can anyone tell me where it is and is it easily accesible,im assuming something has got in there and it is interfering with the fan blades.

its under the scutle panel beneath the screen.
you can get at it through an access panel on the bulkhead

You might be lucky and find that some piece of detritus has found its way into the blower housing. If not, be prepared to replace it.
Bit of a fiddly job but not too bad.

assmith88 deinately not squeaking sounds more like when we used to peg playing cards to the back wheels of our push bikes,if that helps.

If it does turn out to be okay, give the bearings a lube with 3-in1 or similar before reinstalling.

Bearing will have gone so it is spinning off centre and therefore fouling the cover...... Not too tricky to fix.

if it is said fan problem can you buy them as a replacement part or is it a new motor??

It comes as a complete unit;motor with wheels/fans attached. Brand new part is pretty expensive but you should be able to get a secondhand one for around £20 or so.

Put an ad in the wanted section, you should get a few bites.

its fooked so another unit required lol,are they is to put in and take out?there does not seem a lot of clearance at the back there.

Just held in by a single spring clip around the motor, once the snail covers and the two wires are off.

Spring clip can be challenging, but a study of it's construction, and a bit of thought, and you should be able to work out how to remove and replace it!
