I've put a picture up of the sytner plate i have. Its not that many pages gone either Dan,

Anyhow rained off work today @ 1 and i had something to collect from my friendly dealer! We're going back to the BMW alarm i aquired and was getting in a flap about not so long ago as it worked when we bought the car and by the time we broke it for bits 6 weeks later it was playing up



Heres the old siren i took apart to check the backup batteries as i was told these are a common casualty! middle one i've taken out but yes they were f**ked and had leaked but whats that in the box on right! Thats battery skank on the worktop horrid green sh!t





The last siren in stock in the UK £80 which wasn't funny but i was pleased to see that nuts, bolts washers and a new bracket all came with it! plus 2 new keys. I had to buy this, i couldn't get the batteries on their own. I suppose the originals had lasted 20 years





The car had previously had a cobra alarm fitted in 95 which had left some holes.........which were exactly in the same place for the bmw bracket to fit and hold the siren, love it.




Heres the end of the siren loom, i didn't have new connections (new one just had wire with nothing on it) so i cut them off the old one and soldered them on, bit of shrink wrap action and then poke them back into the plug in the right order.




What do we think?? All in there tidy i hate electrics i have to concentrate so hard!





2 fobs, keys, OE instructions, plus BMW ALARM sticker unused. I've got to use it!


But in short i've soldered it all in, run all the siren loom through the OBC grommet to keep it factory looking. It only f**king works, once i'd plugged all the sensors in and turned the key to "on" on the siren. Chuffed to say the least its not a CAT 1 but a good working OE alarm and i like it! Taken a few hours to do but a another major job completed

Nice! I would like to ditch my scorpion alarm (which has been totaly reliable) for the OE BMW one but i think the chances of getting a fully functioning one are slim!

Thats the module for the alarm with the magnetic key that alot of cabrios and some M3's had.

BMW Alarm is excellent. It just gets the job done with no fancy nonsense.

Got the car out the garage for the first time in a while, cleaned her out inside was a bit messy in there tools, leaves from my tree on the drive with the windows down, dust. Had the hoover out lol

More a few bits and bobs today




Bit of cleaning the alloy wishbones, i need to buff them up with some autosol! lol






This is how i put the 19mm nut on the top of the shock. 8mm 1/4 inch through a 1/2 inch 19mm socket. Works a treat. I'm going with B6 dampers and 60mm H&R cupkit springs on the front, instead of the Alpina setup.

I've had to take my front struts apart, as i've sold the standard top mounts. But ready it was because i bought some Alpina offset topmounts, these increase castor and negative camber on the front. They work really well.

I'm just waiting for my dad to press in my new M3 offset bushes into the lolipops so we can crack on with getting this sh!t fitted on the front.






Nice and mint, new plate and nuts, just need a new throttle cable for it, so ready to go







2 air con looms, i picked the best one. Cleaned up and re-taped up ready to fit into the fuse box





I was in tears earlier drilling a 30mm f**king hole into my inner arch! Needs must and this is how the breather pipe gets to the filler neck from the Alpina fuel tank. Which i'm still waiting for from the powder coaters. Once this is back i can get the whole fuel system plumbed in and fitted.

Alarm was a trinket from the red 325 we broke recently. It was bought purely for the diff for my car and si took the alarm.

I've painted the whole yes but i though a bit of copper grease would work for some reason better than waxoyl.

iirc that green alpina the tank came from hadn't rusted out around this hole at all and they didnt treat it

Thats right. It had holes on top holes every where else though!
