a long drive normaly cleans mine out pretty good. :D

i wouldnt mind knowing this myself.

are you sure your tank doesnt have rust from the tank itself.
reason i ask is no point cleaning it when your better replaceing it.

I once spent a good few hours with a bit of cloth wrapped round a magnet on a stick to try to encourage the internal crud and rust out of my tank (accessed from the panel under the back seat).

I recently, however, replaced my tank with a new GSF item, as this turned out the best way to 'clean' the old one.

If corrosion has started in there, it's not really interested in stopping.

Another point to note is that I was changing fuel filters about every three or so months because of the tank crud, so in reality, the cost of the replacement tank isn't too bad when compared to the continual fuel filter changes :?
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Just slightly off topic but where is the fuel filter located?

No baffles in the BMW tank either, other than the cup that the pump sits in.

^^^ Have a look on the GSF Website - £125 for 55litre and £165 for 63litre (newer models) + VAT & Del. Then fit it
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....
