If you can call it that. I now have a new head, and have cleaned up and painted the inlet and rocker. Just need new head bolts and ready to go back together. Still need a rear bumper and to paint the boot lid.

Stood 12 years, so bound to be a bit manky.

You not fitting an 885 head? I'd bin that ETA manifold and go with the 325i/525i one :)

I was thinking of that, but I want to keep this original, and economical. I already have a V6 and a V8 to punish me fuel wise, I don't want another. :( Besides, as a restoration that will eventually be up for sale I think it would be more valuable as a standard car that offers decent enough performance as opposed to a 528i wannabe that falls into the half of one half of the other category if you know what I mean. :D

Just stuffing a 731 head and matching manifold on will transform the way it goes with no loss in economy!

Done some paintwork, fitted newish bumpers (though if you get some really nice ones I will still be keen Adi) and a set of BBS 15" E34 alloys with brand new tyres. Looking better. still plan on finishing next week. Have to pick up the cambelt kit and new exhaust and head bolts tomorrow.

my mate had one of them years ago think it was a 520i though. hes had an e34 525i - e39 528i and now an audi a8 and he still talks about it with more fondness than any of the other cars as he loved it.
