To get to Banbruy take over 40mins, to get through Banbury to the M1 I am looking at 35mins/40 mins again.

Normally if I HAD to hit the M1 I would cut eastards and join on at MK

We could fix up a cruise up there from Northampton as before? We met at Northampton Saints football club last time, very close to the M1 for anyone passing through en route.

We may have to give gooner a 20 min head start though

Do you then go up the M1 E30shed? I only ask because I live in Wootton and to meet at the football ground I would have to go back on myself.

BTW Just so I understand, does Rob drive really slowly?

Err, you might need the head start mate, seeing as we
met at NTFC,s stadium at Sixfields.
Saint,s are a Rugby football club, which is based in Jimmy,s End.
Fancy that, an old Hackney boy, giving directions for
Northampton, to a Northamptonian. :)

Would a more scenic rural roaded place be better? For pictures and perhaps fun drives? Not that there is much in the way of scenery in the midlands!!! LMAO..

Somewhere along Cannock chase or that sort of thing?

Good suggestion Adz. Why can't we just arrange a meet where we all meet at a petrol station, fill up our turds, and then go for a nice drive? :D

Well the first meet will be at the Toby carvery.
I think all that attend can then put forward ideas of venues and dates as the weather will no doubt be getting better and more daylight too.
I want to keep the meet as local to the Midlanders as possible.
I will be keeping an eye on the weather and if it does get better quicker, i'll post up possible dates.

That's 10 min from me. It's alright, not quite as bad as star city but is definate dodge the council'd fiesta teratory. You'll also need a chav catcher fitted to the front bumper. Emo repelling "happy" music wouldn't go a miss either.

We could go bowling tho!

10 min is quite a distance on the national speed limit roads. There's at least one fookin' great hill between me and there ! :P

What about Sutton Park ?

If you go in at Boldmere gate there is a big car park opposite Powells Pool which might make for some nice photo opportunities and also the Miller & Carter pub for anyone who wants food or beer.

http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=16&c ... &qs=B736LH

I think that they do make a small charge to get into the park on Sundays ( £1 IIRC ) but even potless zoners like me can afford a quid

I think there has previously been a midlands meet at Sutton park which was poorly attended - however there seems to be a fair few of us now that have attended the Toby Carvery/RAF Cosford meets so no reason why it wouldn't work now as a venue.

The only issues would be that the park can get busy on Sundays, especially if the weather is good and whether we'd need to get permission ?? Its not like you can formally reserve an area so if we get 20-30 cars turning up at once all parking together might be an issue - maybe the events orgainser can look into this Rav ?? winkeye

Everything you have said above is true.
Turn out was on the low side to say the least.
Speed bumps are on the "High" side, so leaves all the boys and girls with dropped cars, and on a sunday in good weather it does get rammed.
I think altogether there were 5 cars that turned up.
