There are 2 versions: One is sewed in and the uses a zipper. BMW changed to the later version in late 91.

Replacing the sewed is not a nice job, but possible. The old needs to be carefully cut out (only the stitching) without damaging the roof itself. The old window had a sealing compound, but I found this always expired.

Then you can use the old rear window as a template. Place it over the new one and perforate the new through the old stitching holes. This assures proper fitting.

Then place the new rw in the opening and use some pins to fix it. The holes show where to place it.

Then sew the window in. Use the existing holes. Need to be done twice to make the sewing look like before.

As mentioned above: BMW used a sealing compound, but the window would be waterproof without as well. The use of a stitching sealing used at tents would be more usefull.

I know that my instructions are different from those written by BMW, but I think mine are way easier.

The one with the zipper can be easily replaced, if you got the right zipper. Usually, the zipper is only delievered by BMW with an OEM window. I've tried several and found one out of a cardigan, which worked

If you've got any questions: feel free to ask.

I know the original EBA. It is slightly different and I consider my way to be easier.
