I bought a set of alloys very similar to these last year with the intention in the end of doing them repsol orange to contrast nicely with the satin brown bodywork I had planned for the touring. They are a 15" rim.

Image

Obviously the touring is destined to become landfill shortly.

I had the wheels dipped and they have also had a quick blast to give a good key for either painting or powdercoated.

I'm not so sure they will look all that on the chromie with a sensible drop.

Image

Image

The only E30's I can find with them fitted are facelifts or the rims are split rim versions

Image

Reckon anyone can photoshop a pair onto my car for a vague idea, needs a drop obviously.

What's your opinion?

The BBS on the touring are bent.

I have a set of 16" mim 5 spokes in the garage which came off the wife's golf, but one would need work as it is bent

Image

I think the mims would look more "period" but I have £230 in the cup alloys already and would prob have to move them on at a loss.

What do ya reckon?

It'd have to be properly low to pull them off I reckon

I think you should go bottletops :snigger:

joking apart i think the second ones will look best, would you not consider getting some 15" bbs for the oem sleeper look?

Like Jhonno says you'd have to slam it, would need a sump guard for sure!

I still think mine needs to be dropped more for the Hartges to look just right

In fairness i'm not that keen on the first wheel Lee, the ones on the Golf would look better out of the two sets.

I think they would suit facelift cars better.

A chromie needs older looking wheels.

This is the thing, although the car would look the tits slammed, I ain't doing that as it'll handle shit and have the sump away. So 40mm drop is all I have planned, don't think i'd get away with a 60 front drop. I need to buy new springs anyway as the touring Weitec ones will be no good for this.

Really, I want some Ronal Turbos :D

RH Cups are very popular with the VW-Audi boys, common on Mk1 Golfs & later Polos, early Audi 80's etc. I'm a big fan of dished rims but I'm not sold on those on an E30. You'd probably do ok selling them on volkszone.co.uk forum.

You can't really top a set of 15" BBS, but I would say that winkeye

They won't suit a prefacelift at all imo. They actually look like toy wheels in the first picture!

That looks surprisingly better than I thought, will never look like that on a 40 drop though I bet and will prob look smaller.

If I move these cups on, what do you reckon the best thing to do would be.

Currently I have £230 in them. Powdercoating all 4 will be another £80, so £310 in total. I think I'd be pushing my luck getting my money back on edition38.com or similar. But are they less saleable in blasted finish like they are now?

I think something like these would look nice on your car Lee
polished front with black inserts puts me in mind of the early cossie wheels

obviously could do with a refurb lol

Image
bit dirty in the pic but basically a flat fronted version of the e30 BBS with push on caps
the stamped production date is 1987 so quite period for your car

They have all kinds of cross spoke wheels in Germany like that. I've allways wanted something like that.

I'm more worried about drop and sump issues mate as where I live is littered with speed humps. I'm nervous a 60 front drop will end in tears, hell it needs it but I'm getting a bit practical in my old age :)

I've got B6 fronts and koni adjustable struts for the rear, council dynamics ARB's and will be needing to make a choice of springs soon. Will be fitting M3 wishbone bushes too. Hopefully the handling will be sweet.

Don't go dead low mate. It's for corsa's and saxo's.
40mm is just fine. Dan your car look's perfect mate.
I recon the mim's will look sex mate. What do you mean bent? Flat spot or twisted? Flat spots I can sort. Twists normally means fooked.

Ollies photoshop is very good but the wheels look at least 17 inch. Anything twisted is scrap, get it on ebay or weigh it in.
If I were you Lee id get the stuff you wont use sold and start off with some BBS while you sort the rest of the car
