Theres nothing wrong with E21s, my first BM was a 1982 323i-WEG 82X. Lovely car, twin exhausts (one each side), shame rust kills them. I think they look better than E30s

I've had 2 E21s, sadly not a 323i though. Had an '83 316 and a '78 320.
The Solex carb on the 320 caused me nothing but hassle, and the Zenith carb on the 316 I threw away and stuck a Weber on.
Apart from the carbs and the rust, lovely cars. I'd gladly have another.

I think a nice E21 is just as good looking as a nice chromie, and is actually better looking than facelift E30's.

That is superb, mine had the usual boot floor rust, they improved the design on the E30, the K-Jetronic injection system was quite easy to understand. I loved the interior door handles in the armrests! also the digital clock in the speedo was brillantOllie_bwoii wrote:I think a nice E21 is just as good looking as a nice chromie, and is actually better looking than facelift E30's.

Yes, this guy is an active member on the E21 forum.
Like I said , he took most of it apart and renewed most things, full body respray etc.....
It's a 323i and can be found here.

If it is then the info on that one is that one of the mods on the E21 forum bought it and is now the one selling it.

they're just scrap compared to an E30. I mean the front anti roll bar holds all the front struts and suspension together? WTFs going there? They handle sh!te too, i've got no love for them

I never used to like E21's much - and I've had a few.
But these days a really nice one with the right mods does look quite superb. Some really excellent examples turn up at the Ace.

its a good design tbh. antiroll bar and the lower arm triangle forming the wishbone.... no need for a separate antiroll bar.....Simon13 wrote:they're just scrap compared to an E30. To be honest simon, if wernt for the E21 3 series, you wont be sitting in your E30.. E21 is a style of its own the E30 also has its own, years ago lets say back in 1990 my first car was an Mtec 2 E30, i sold it 3 years later after heavy abuse with my foot to pedal i then decided i wanted a classic car. When i drive an E30 it does feel more solid i must admit and it feels safer to drive. but i built mine around performance and handles better than the E30 cos I made it like that, the next man may have not! Its a 35 year old car, you cant compare the suspension setup against another that has been updated. see really take that into consideration.Simon13 wrote:they're just scrap compared to an E30. Now't wrong with e21's just can't wait till pete serve's them up then the e21 will have made it
fFront roll bar design is flawed but for used it all the way up till the 90's and the same upgrades work on an e21
rear uspension has real covers and better geometry than a e30
