Pressure Washers - recommendations?

As per subject title tbh.

Obviously car is filthier than a very filthy thing and really need to get the crap out from under the arches.

Seen a few in Halfords and Argos, not sure if they are any good.

Recommendations/experiences appraciated

They can't clean underneath very well at all but do a fairly decent job for the money.

depends how much you wnat to spend, Screwfix do a Nilfisk C120 for about £80 and they are really good.

i deal and repair pressure washers whatever you can get i might be able to sort you out a good price

beware the modern day nilfisk washers they are made in china and any repair parts can take 5 weeks toi turn up the old ones were a1 but not any more

if you want cheap they are all the same but if you want a good one you will be shelling out a few hundred

Are any of them really that good for washing cars? Ok, they might blast dirt out from wheel arches and underneath, but would they really clean a cars bodywork? I've tried a few "Jet-washes" in the past, but realised once I got home that the car was still filthy and needed a proper clean. Is it worth shelling out a lot of money just to clean my wheel-arches, or am I really missing the point and there is a real need for one of these?

a jet was does help but once dirt has really began to stick you will need chenical and some sort of aggetation (my spelling is crap) a brush most likely
if your car is a show example then only hand washing is a good idea but with regular use a jet wash will keep it clean and will clean areas you cant with a sponge and bucket

Good comment Jonny, I always handwash the cabby, a blast with the jet-wash does help in the other areas but I wouldn't ever use a "sponge" !

Best way to clean inside wheel arches is to jack up the car and remove the wheel. Then with a bucket of diluted TFR and a brush, give them a scrub. Rise off with a hose after. Job done.

actually the best way to do it is get a 200 bar diesel machine with a turbo nozzle
rust paint it will all be gone nice and shiny lmao

the small halfords pressure washer is fine. bough mine for £35 when they were on special offer 2 years ago, and it still works well. for £35 if it lasted for one year i'd be happy.

not only does it do the job of help cleaning the car, with some TFR it does the arches a treat on the Land Cruiser which does go off road every week, and cleans the driveway brick work pretty well too.

cheap ones are ok if you use them on a regular basis but if you lay them up for a while then they tend to stop working but i do agree at £35 throw them away after 12months and buy another

Depends how much you want to spend, personally I use a Nilfilisk C120, it's a great piece of kit and I use in my job, however as soon as I have the funds I'll be buying a Kranzle.

i wouldnt do that mate the kranzle is an even worse option you better off with the proffesional quality alto the kranzles are a nightmare exspensive parts and difficult to work on
either that or contact my company in stoke on trent they build thier own machine and are kept simple so all the parts are easily availible and easy to work on
a good strong cold machine will be between £625 and £900 but they will last for years

Interesting, they seem to be the choice of most other Pro detailers and they seem to perform well, however I am always happy to hear from someone in the know and I will take in to account what you say, are the Pro Alto ones capable of drawing water from a tank???

most machines can but not all best to check when you have a model in mind

you find with brands its what ever is the most popular agent in the local area for instance if you go into shropshire from here they favour karcher and they are rubbish

if you are near to staffordshire come see us we will do you as good a deal as we can on either our own make or one of the alto machines if you prefer a name you know
