Dirty BBS alloys are still cooler than clean bottletops. ;)

Advice?? Clean them yourself! The wife is then out of the equation...daimlerman wrote:I need advice here.
My touring is sat on a set of BBS cross spokes that my wife hates cleaning. Also, the tyres are almost worn out.I have a set of bottletops 'in stock' with very good tyres on them, and my wife likes cleaning bottletop wheels.
Should I;
1.Spend £250+ on a set of tyres for wheels that my wife hates cleaning.
2.Fit the bottletops that she likes cleaning, have decent tyres already fitted.
Bear in mind when answering that my wife is known to be fiesty and I am a known tight git.
Touring in question has an M50 and covered 14k miles in the last 12 months.
Thank you,

Surely this whole debate is pointless as it is down to each individual as to what they like.
The really sad people will only get whatever everyone else says is cool and the cool people will make their own mind-up as to what they like.
I personally think Alpina wheels, genuine or not, look shite and are as common as muck but that is MY opinion.
If we all liked the same things every car on the zone would look exactly the same and how boring would that be????

oooh it's very close
52% say no they are shit
47% say yes they are great!
I voted yes.
As the OEM homo of 2009, if I bought a 1984 323i with 30k on the clock, 1 lady owner and garaged all it's life and it had bottle tops? Would I change them. Would I f*ck. They are right on that car full stop. They looked cool on that car in 1984, why not now?
I'll tell you the only reason why shall I? Because the world is full of narrow minded c*nts who think a set of 17" BK reps are a better bet regardless of the fact they make the car handle like a peice of crap.
Okay, we could say a set of 15" BBS would look better and I agree, they are the best rim on an e30. But there is, and always will be, a time and a place for a mint bottle top.
I know a man with 2 mint (1 unused) bottle tops and 3 unused 195/65 x 14 Pirelli P6's if you are that way inclined

Taste, as Spadge said, is down to the individual...it's not for you to tell others what they should like.

I bet hell would freeze over before you see BBS on UBL
Personally i think bottletops on cars of that period are just right, even if i think BBS are the better wheel, they would be so wrong on that car, period.

Note! My red chrome turd had bottle craps but they went in the bin in favor of 15" BBS which incidently are period for that car as its an '86 325i.B7 wrote:I know what your saying but it would just be wrong.
