Seen a BMW 2002 on a S-plate 78 year listed on ebay, It has round tail lights. Thought that year would mean it should be sporting square tail lights?
Cheers Sean.

The 2002 finished production in 1976 I think and the squar lights came in about 74! That car you have seen is a heap!

Rodderz its local to you. thats what i thought with square lights coming in at 74, but we have this 2002 reg'ed at 78!
Also this would mean it would not qualify for historical vehicle tax.
I've always wanted a 2002 but it has to have the round tail lights.

If it was manufactured prior to 1973 then it will be tax exempt. I have never seen a genuine late registration of a round lamp model as late as 1978. Sounds like it could be an old ringer. If this is the car that I'm thinking of then it is proper scrap and road tax would be a little and distant worry!
