Not after anything spaceage, can protect your paintwork up to 6 meters from our sun or is used by mad oil barons on their dinos.
Just a good shampoo, polish and wax (for when its warm enough). It's for a met black '94 touring.

Taking for granted that you have 3 buckets, mitt, drying towel etc etc
Carlack or Duragloss shampoo (I use a trade shampoo 5L from espuma which is ph neutral, rinse aid and dosnt contain a wax or gloss adative.) Megs hyper is also good, but more expensive.
Polish, carlack again, this is a proper LSP which can also remove some swirls, gives fantastic protection and donst seem to mind the damp that much. Duragloss but thats a few stages to do it right. Also good old SRP, some dont like it but it still does its job really well.
Wax, carlack as above. I also use fk1000p for winter work.
I wouldnt use certain waxes till summer since they only last 1-2 months in my experiance.
(I use Best Of Show on black cars (owning and looking after 7 black cars) not cheap but I like it)

Although my car is red and not black, this is my effort from today:
Achieved using the two bucket method, zymol shampoo, autoglym super resin polish (it has "filler" in the polish which helps to reduce the swirl marks and scratching) and it was finished off with a lovely coat of chemical guys wet mirror finish.
I've used zymol wax before, very good stuff but a right pain in the arse to use!

tim at cleanyourcar stocks the carlack.
as for gritters, i try not to get near them, too much damage if your close by.
(2 buckets for wash, 1 bucket for wheels. you could do with another just for doing the interior but thats being picky.)
as i said, the carlack is ok in damp (paint still needs to be dry).
polished bliss did a werkstat bogof, dont know if its still running.

Still snowing here, so no chance to wash the cars today (that and i didnt finish work till after 4pm)
