Cooler inlet charge, should give a small performance increase. If you're lucky.
I removed the throttle heating pipes from my Astra GTE 8v for the same reason.

They're designed to heat the throttle up more quickly to help fuel vaporisation on cold days etc.

Of course, the whole unit eventually warms up anyway via the inlet manifold. But it can't do any harm.

If the charge is kept at a lower temperature, the density is higher and therefore you get a tiny bit more air and fuel in for the same volume..

Don't expect any noticable gains.

You'll have to re-route your water pipes then. Don't just block them up, you have to have a flow from the inlet to the outlet and back into the cylinder head... make sure you don't bend the pipes in a way they're not supposed to as they'll split pretty quickly. Trust me, I know!

Giles.
