Standard is not cool, welding your diff, thrashing your underpowered engine unmercifully and bashing the bodywork to fook is also, not cool.

I dont drive a shed because i cant afford anything else... i have a respectable job and i dont live from Giro to Giro cheque but you should really try driving around in a total shed you couldnt give 2 shites about it makes the word so much easier... Especially in a world filled with mothers in 4x4s who apparently have no idea how to open a car door without slamming it into the car next to them... Also drifting is FUN... seriously its awesome you should all give it a go, instead of worrying if your car came with a rear sun blind from the factory or not or if some godless heathen has retro fitted it....

Btw im sorry for this blanket statement because there are a hell of alot of awesome people on here who do use there cars to thier full potentional... unfortunately they seem alot less vocal than the "BBS and an IS lip are the only acceptable mods to these cars" Crew...

Nothing wrong with a bit of 'drifting' but killing your car on a dry concrete car park to produce maximum smoke from the tyres, and in most cases engine, is pretty pointless and soon gets boring

Trampdrifting is awsome fun , but i keep my e36 for that as I feel my e30 is too good to wreck on the track

My e36 stands me about £160 , it gets taken on trailer and if I wreck it then who cares , Its all about fun.

And you can drift without wrecking your car , there is a guy with a mk2 escort mexico with a cossie and its recently rebuilt , he has natural talent and have never seen him loose control of it or break it in the last 18month . I would not drift a 10K car though.

Surely its all about the cars , emjoying them and keeping them alive ?? surely were all on the same side here?

You think ive never 'drifted' be-fo?

I see drifting as a form of banger racing, so no, not on the same side really

How did you come to that conclusion? Is it because ive spent more than £200 on my car? Or because it doesnt have a welded diff and lumps of bodywork missing?

Tramp drifting isnt too far removed from banger racing really....

Ive had nice cars and totally see the appeal, but there are some people who act like thats the only way to do it... and its not..

I cant see any constructive comments from you so Im guessing you're just hear to provoke matters yeah?

Regardless of your standpoint on drifting (which I disagree with obv but am polite enough not to jump on your threads and harp on about) this is a project thread about a bloke building himself a cheap 318is-a-like daily.
The mention of the drift touring was simply that, a mention. He bought an already half broke, fragged for the good bits, 325 tourer, mentioned hes gonna rag it around a bit until its dead. Lets all be honest, we know its uneconomical to do anything else but frag whats left or beat it around for fun.

Let it get back on topic ffs.

brewer welded diff defo for the win imo

white 2 door is looking good

on a Difrent note

Trampdrift wasn't started up as a lifestyle thing it was started up after going on drift works and relising there wasn't a place for people with little money (low budget) to talk, start, get involed in drifting.

No let's not. My comments were made in jest, I also knew every one of you drift c0cks would come wading in exactly like you have. I am not against drifting quite enjoy watching and doing it. I just don't feel the need to jump up and defend it like a pr!ck everytime a thread like this starts. It's predictable and very funny. We just don't understand the lifestlye.
Got cable ties anyone?

They only came across as provocative. If in Jest some humour would be obvious no?

I didnt jump up and defend drifting. In fact as I said my opinion on drifting may be different from yours but Im not here harping on about it as lets face it, it's entirely counterproductive over here, and ruins peoples threads.

Imo the only person who looks like a prick (your words not mine) is you. Your predictable e30zone, and the reason owners club forums have a bad name, and not very funny at all.

Come back when you've got jokes.

Im not little, not in the slightest.

Your the one who started with the policing of peoples views. You came on this chaps thread gave him stick for the ride height he wants and the hobbies he follows. Come and complain to me when we trash your build thread.

Also please note you've resorted to personal insults twice already. Is there any need or can you not discuss a difference in opinions without resorting to name calling?

The word personal does not imply that we have met. If you insult someone specifically that is personal, regardless of whether you know them or not.
And its bored, which I am now too.

well the last 10 posts were interesting....... not!

option 1) lower it, drift it, crash it. have fun!
option 2) dont lower it, but spend 10k on it, get it out on sunday, polish it and leave it in the garage till next sunday. take it to its next mot happy in the knowledge youve only put 200 miles on it since last year.

whichever you want to do is fine.

dezzy, sftr is NOT a little person! :D
