hi

yeah my e36 328i sport wont start, when I turn the key I get ignition lights but the starter isnt cranking and there is no clicking noise or anything.

Ive tried a new battery and still doesnt work.

Ive also tried putting power to the starter motor whilst i was doing the I must of bridged the terminals with the end of jump leads and the starter motor cranked.

So its not the battery and not the starter motor.

What else can I do to diagnose the fault?

Cheers

If it is a gen BMW alarm the your ignition key should switch off the siren
Have you tried puting a new battery in your key fob?

the battery is fine i assume as i can unlock and lock the car with the fob. It is genuine but the ignition key wont fit the alarm siren but i know i have a smaller key that fits the siren, and was just wondering if its worth pulling my house to bits to find it or will it have no affect on the problem (turn immobiliser off), or just turn the siren off

I had to tear my house apart to find the little key but was worth it in the end as the alarm was causing my e36 to do exactly the same. Def worth a try mate
