I have just bought a 318 iS off Ebay for a sum of Ԛ£500. the car is only 5 miles from my house though i am a bit worried as to if it is a good thing to do or not as there is one picture of the car and a small description,
4 previous owners
1990 BMW 318 iS COUPE
BBS ALLOYS
102K MILES
I reserve the right to end the auction early.
and thats it! was it worth the Ԛ£500 as i have gone in a bit blind!!!

That is a steal! Well done!

Right then here is my story!
i went round to the blokes house and knocked him up (he was asleep cause he works nights) and said that the car had been standing since the tax ran out 05-05, the body work is a bit oxydised but nothing that my best mate T-Cut wont sort! he went into the house for the battery and attached it he had not started it up since 05-05, to my suprise it started up straight away with no knoks or ratles and purred!!!!!! the car has only covered 101K and the interior is mint!!
he said that the car had some service history so that was a bonus, when the deal was complete i jumped into the car with the biggest grin on my face, eveything works the mirrors, central locking, sunroof even the main beam adjusters.
the car is in my lockup in Wrexham now ready for a good clean and some M-Tech touches. When i was looking through the paperwork the car has every MOT and is serviced up to 83K so only missing 2 stamps and was serviced at the place where i have taken all my E30's.
i am just going to give her a nice goodclean and take some photos how chuffed am i!!
Bob_S Yeah i am the same lad! this is my second 318 iS i sold the first one to Lordschleife off here apologise for the spelling of the name!! where you from Bob? we will have to meet up mate!

Thoughts/differences?
I presume you think its worthwhile if life now starts at 3000rpm?

well thoughts, it was a piece of piss to fit
i cant really say theres much difference yet as iv only driven it round the block cos im not insured yet, and my engine does not idle properly for sum reason at the moment, the whole car seems to be effected
but, having sed that when u get to 3000 its deffo kicks in
and its generally more responsive throughout mate
good investment i think

Hmm may be tempted at some point in the future
Broke at the mo, and the car needs a good service too soon, so a chip will have to wait.

I had the Viper2 in my old 318iS for about a month before i sold it and it was very good, an increase in flexability in all gears and was noticably quicker. And the maker claims it works for "all" iS as regards to the constant ECU revisions they did!

Well after T-cuttin my hands to cr@p the car is coming along nicely just needs a bit of work on the bonnet! yeah life begins at 4000rpm but as 318-is said i wouldn't mind it starting at 3000. And as for the bloke knowing what he had i am not entirely sure, one of the comments that he said whilst i handed over the money was "i have seen these on the autotrader for about Ԛ£600, so i am not that dissapointed" i would like to see what 318iS he was looking at for Ԛ£600. i even think that it has more poke than the 320 that i had i took it around my local industrial estate to dry it off and she flew! hugging the corners like glue Fantastic!!!
Bob_S yeah i know Emilia what car have you got mate? Oh yeah here are some photos with the Tech 2 spoiler soon to be added, Tech 1 side skirts, black kidney grill and 15"BBS alloys!
These are before shots!!!

Right i have just got in literally this second from the lock up after being out since 10AM this morning and now the car is as close to immaculate as it can be! and now with the addition of M-Tech II spoiler M-Tech I side skirts, black grill and 15" BBS alloys.
All thats left to fit are the rear quarter panel windows (I have a set that open from my last E30) and the ca is ready for a few photos, the paint work was a pain in the back side to clean up as it was extrmely oxydised. What i had to do was get a buffer and some rubbiong compound and literally go over the whole car, but now after a few layers of polish she looks superb!
I even took her for a little raz around the industrial estate again sideways around a few round abouts which was great something that i have missed as the E36 is too much of a barge to do it!I will get some photos on here of the finished article but i am very impressed with the result from the before photos!
Cheers for your support!

iS is now on 91k, only really gets used at the w/e, or odd evening so keeping the mileage low!

Looking good there Ben. Have to get some after photos up now.
The interior looks spot on. The drivers seat is perfect, but the good 'ole gearknob is showing the signs!!
