Have come across what claims to be E30 seat heating elements.

Were these an optional extra in the UK and, if so, was the wiring already put in place and what and where were the on/off switches?

Thanks in advance for any help.

These were an option and are fairly rare. The switches are on the rear section of the centre consul.

Thanks for your quick response.

Would you know if there is suitable wring already in place and what the switches looked like?

This might help with the "where were the switches/what do they look like?" question:

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for these please. Would like to obtain the switches as well, if possible.
TIA

i've got some of those switches and looms somewhere

found them in a breaker. but the looms didn't seem to plug into anything in the seats. someone had already taken the cushions off, do the cushions have the elements in them?

you need to buy the elements then take the seat apart to fit them,
the main loom then plugs into the elements up to switches then up to the accessory connector
