ive got an m44 lump to go in it with full m44 loom and ecu.... im thinking of turboin it so im looking for advice.... best turbo for the job? can it be done with standard internals as im not looking for crazy boost.... can it be done on the standard management and also who could map it for me? im in scotland and good tuners are rare up here

Hi,

There's the odd m4x turbo on here, a few M42 SC's also. The M44 wasn't std equipment in an e30, M43/44 were e36/e34 engines but I'm no expert on std equipment, as you can see.

What's the spec's on the M44, CR, cams etc?

And don't even consider stock ecu/stock chip to run it, there are many options but not matter which way you go it will need remapping to suit and RRFPR's are shit, don't go there.

A nice cossie sized turbo would be ideal, maybe a HX30 or 35, so many options, red light racer or top end monster? or something in the middle? info helps us help you.

HI, THANKS FOR REPLY, I KNOW ITS AN E36 ENGINE MATE I TOOK IT OUT THE CAR. I DONT WANT A MAD ASS RACER. JUST SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE.... MAYBE 220 BRAKE OR SO IF POSS WITHOUT RIPPING IT APART AND UPGRADING THE INTERNALS.

THE ENGINE IS TOTALLY STANDARD WITH 60K MILES ON IT.

WHAT MANAGMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?? RRFPR????

EXCUSE THE THICKNESS.....IVE BEEN AN OLD SCHOOL FORD GUY FOR YEARS

THANKS

There are a few options to run it, are you in the know enough to tune it DIY? or would you need to pay for that service? Can you install the ECU/wiring/sensors etc?

Rising rate fuel pressure regulator, ups fuel pressure with boost, works ish at best.

You can get a few more than 220 without worrying I'm sure, def look into supercharging, there are two M42 rotrex charged e30's, worth a thought for sure.

My ford days involved a xr3i and a scholar stage 3 engine, ended in tears as car fell apart around it
