E46 help. Not reving.

Hi yall. I am borrowing an e 46 at the minet with a 1.9 8 valve engion. It's started being a bit slower shal we say on startup. Just refuses to pull past 2000 rpm untill realy warmed up and then it's all fine again.
Any idears welcomb


I know the best fix would be swop for an e30 325 but hay. [/list]

have a look at the breather pipes between the cam cover and the inlet manifold i have seen one or two with air leaks on the pipe or the plastic valve fitted to the inlet manifold . only a guess but worth a look

also check icv if no joy unplug maf and see if it revvs then, as i have heard that the maf can fail and wont let it rev in mag at some point! worth ago!
