As a few of you on here may have realised I’m an proper Alpine Whore and just thought I would share a bit of my porn collection with you.

We start with the Alpine 7375 which came out in 1986 was the world’s first cassette changer and looked like this”¦”¦.

Image
Image

Next is the Alpine 5900 which was Alpines first mainstream CD player and came out at the same time as the 7375 in 1986”¦”¦”¦.

Image

The 7901 arrived shortly after

Image

The Alpine 7905 came out in 1988”¦”¦”¦..

Image

In 1990 Alpine released what is still regarded as one of the best head units of all time the holy 7909”¦”¦..

Pac

What year was this 3337 mate. I was told about 1991 but I think it's a touch later? I have it in my convertible for that period look.

Only thing I don't like is the green illumination, which is why I run an early P series pioneer head unit (I can also run my ipod through that).

I just bought this, i belive its the same or similar as what came fitted in e30s, i'am sure barry or b7 can confirm wether it is or not.

Seller said it had been in cuboard for years and is like new, recived it the other day and you would think its never been used, tape deck works perfect too.

not bad for £12

Not quite as classy as the others by a long shot though

That sir is the exact stereo I bought new for my Granada Scorpio in 1992 so will be a little later than the e30 BUT will look period none the less. I believe it runs an M series cd changer as well. This is the din fitting to the head unit. The M series will not play CD R's either. Was a fine head unit though in it's day.

Whats the model number? It'll be something like KEH-M4600? If theres no M then it won't run a changer. Mine was an M series. Cost me an absolute fortune back then! It looks exactly the same though :?

I went on to change the head unit to one similar to this which I had in the loft for years and fitted to my convertible when I bought it 5 years ago.

I then wanted to run my iPod so changed to the very early P series which i've pictured above and connected one of these to it.
It's the best move I've made. Full iPod operation but with retro "period" looks.

Non CD changer compatible. Was a pretty basic unit in its day but don't let that worry you, all pioneer stuff from back in the day was good. Will be the same period as I stated above so will look period.

Heres a very good item for an e12 or e21.
Mate had one of these in a 1275GT back in '81. Was the first digital tuner Pioneer (or possibly any ICE maker) ever in a car.

Similar period (a little later) as my current set up. But will look okay IMO. And that will run one of those iPod kits as well winkeye

That set up was IIRC about £1200 as a dealer option. Proper peice of kit back then. Are you sure theres no amber option on the lighting? Maybe a bit early I suppose.

It came from the E36 I raped for the M52 lump, so was prob dealer fit in that, circa 1995
