Just got my new Motorsport home which goes well and sounds awesome!!! I now have that fun period where I discover all the little problems I didn't see in the test drive/inspection. So here are a couple o quezzas:

1. If OBC displays -22 for temp, do I need a new sensor, if so how much?

2. If check control flashes Brake Lights on and off, whats the problem,
how much?

3. If the fuel filler door doesn't get locked shut on the central locking, what's the problem and how much?

4. If the chrome grill is loose at the bottom, how do I fix it, and how much?

Apart from the little things that keep appearing (as they do on all cars) i am seriously chuffed, all panels are mint and straight (more or less) as is the paint and bodykit, the engine runs smoothly, and apart from needing a short shift mod ASAP the gearbox seems sweet too. Will get pics up soon.

1. Maybe the sensor, check wiring, check sensor is still there, located in N/S brake duct.

2. Check control should light up for brake lights, and flash check until you press the brake pedal, it should then go off, if not, check bulbs, if they're working, then give the rear bulb holders a good clean.

3. Pull the covering inside the bootlid, and check the wiring to the actuator, buy a second hand one from someone on the zone.

4. Broken clips on the bottom of the kidney, pick up a new on for about Ԛ£10 from GSF.

Well done on getting a car with a proper engine!

1. OBC temp sensor broken or missing from left brake duct . Price = about 35p for a new thermistor

2. duno, brake light bulb out?

3. servi unit knackered or disconnected

4. buy a new one.

cheers simon (EDIT: and smithy), its so good can't believe its real. Even though its a standard exhaust the noise is awesome, especially after my little 4 pot and I keep turning it on and revving it, going nowhere. Love it. Can't wait to restore it to MINT condition. Thanks a lot for the tips on the problems, will see if I can sort it all out soon.

I had loads of problems with the brake light check control when i first had the car. First you gotta check all the bulbs and clean the holders, also spray the connectors with contact cleaner. I also change all the bulbs anyway, just because........... finally i narrowed it down to the brake light switch at the brake pedal, this sorted it, only a few quid from ECP.

Yes, ECP also supply boysen exhausts as fitted as standard, but if you have a 2 piece system, you will have to change to a 3 piece as ECP no longer supply the back box.
