drifting with odd tyres?

does it matter? i have 2 worn tyres (still very legal) a maxxis and a bridgestone as i would like to protect my eagle f1's when i go on my drift day at oulten. and have 2 sets of alloys so seems like a good idea? will the odd tyres ruin the grip on the drift surface?

You will be ok on the oulton drift stages with odd worn tyres as the surface is very slippery,, I doubt it would harm your F1s tbh from a wear point of view but no harm in sticking some cheap tyres on.

If it gets to dry and they have a lot of tyre noise they tend to water the track,, but even when its dry is very slippery as its some sort special tarmac surface.

I have done three of these events on my cheap Uniroyal standard road tyres and is hardly worn them at all.

I can second that, like Stoney I have also done three events there and have never noticed any tyre wear. Just make sure your tyre pressures are okay and you'll be fine no matter what tyres or combinations you use.
