to be honest with you I do have a soft spot for a well sorted Baur but the misses says im on a one car limit untill 2011 so it was either the sport or the Baur I was tempted but ........ I think ill start looking for another Baur at the end of next year...

My fault for introducing 'em late  I think a lot of folks would have a cabby or a baur as a second car alongside a two door for the three days of sunshine we get each year :(

surely this is pretty pointless ?

ie....different types of people with different needs would like and own or want to buy a soft top or a touring ? , people with kids might prefer/need a 4 door, etc, and due to numbers people/most popular would probably be a 2 door saloon, as theres probably more owners of them ?

My cab is a "Family" runabout in the summer as the kids love the open top.
It's down to the owner at the end of the day on how he/she uses the car.

592 views of this poll, and only 90 vote! Less than 1 in 6! Not much hope for the General election next year.

If they had all voted, the cabby would be way out in front of course.
Selection of BMW hardtops available, please ask!

Values dictate that 2drs are more desireable.

i guess the definitive answer would be the original sales figures for each.
you have to be pretty sure what version you like best to buy that one brand new.

does anyone know how many of each variant were manufactured?

2 doors are very nice. My project car is a 2 dr.

Moredoors are great for practicallity and still look good.

Tourings (which I voted for) are my favourite when done "right"... A standard dog-hauller is not a nice sight, but tech2'd, m-tech tailgate spoiler, nice wheels etc can look sooo, sooo good.

But, terms of resale, popularity, and everything... the M3 shell is something else. :D

Uni is killing the project.

But they were not all made at the same time (convertable, salon, touring etc) so not as easy as that

hmm 2dr and tourings leading i've 1 of each. I had a 4 door once, didn't like it. Remember folks you can have 4doors with a big boot!

Touring sales were strong right from their launch till the end

true. tourings / cabs started later and ended later.
their later sales would have been a bit lower as most people would have opted for the newer E36

average sales per year on sale would work i guess. if anyone knows how many were made

I voted Baur, because i own one.
Interesting titbit about the baur body style is that it is the lightest of the e30 shells.
